When Were Synthesizers First Used in Music

Synthesizers were first used in music in the late 1950s and early 1960s experimentally. The RCA Mark II featured in compositions at Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center.

Commercially, The Monkees used a Moog on their 1967 album "Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd."

Early adopters like Wendy Carlos brought them to wider audiences.
