Where Were Synthesizers Invented

Synthesizers were invented in the United States. Robert Moog developed his in Trumansburg, New York, while Don Buchla worked in California.

 

Early prototypes like the RCA Mark II originated at RCA's labs in New Jersey.

 

European influences, like Harald Bode's work in Germany, contributed ideas.

 

The U.S. innovation hub birthed modern synths.
